Jayden's Planet

Ways kids can help recycle:

Save Water

Turn off the water while brushing your teeth, doing the dishes and washing your hair.

Save Electricity

Turn off everything when leaving a room. Lights, TV, A/C, and any other electronics.

Reduce

By using an item more than once, you reduce the amount being sent to the landfills. At school, using both sides of the paper and help save the trees!

Reuse

So many things we throw away can be reused. Think of creative ways to reuse grocery bags and boxes, like to store toys or photographs. Donate old toys & boys to your local thrift store.

Recycle

You know what to do! Make your parents keep two trashcans; one for regular garbage, and one for recycleables such as paper, plastic, cardboard, aluminum & some metals.

Ways kids can help with the oil spill:

Collect Hair

Whether you take hair from all of the hair brushes in the house, or you get a haircut, or even your if you take your dog to get groomed; SAVE ALL OF THAT HAIR! Hair from dogs and humans will be combined, put into nylons, which makes booms that are very absorbent so the spill can be contained.

Take a Day Outta Your Vacation

I know you are having fun at DisneyWorld, but the planet needs your help! If you live in Florida, or are there on vacation, visit VolunteerFlorida.org & sign up to help clean up this crisis.

Help the Birds

Get your teacher to help you start a fundraiser with your school. You can have a bake sale, talent show, or even a day at the park with races & friendly competitions. Donate all of the proceeds to the National Auduboun Society, which is catering to the bird vicitims of the oil spill.

Donate Items

Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary needs paper towels, bottled water, toothbrushes, Gatorade, moving boxes, bleach, gas gift cards, shovels, trash bags that are heavy duty, and kennels of all sizes. Get together with your friends an have an 'item' party! Everyone must bring at least one of the items they need, and at the end of the party, have your parents ship the items directly to them.
